Google isn’t just a search company but also a data company. They collect data like what type of device people use to access websites. Google knows if a person uses a desktop, tablet, or mobile device when searching.
Webmasters are getting emails from their Google Search Console about mobile-first indexing coming into effect.
People make searches more often with their mobile phone instead of their desktop or tablet. A person can press a button and say “Okay Google, show me the best website for Webmaster Services”, and Google will bring up the best result from their search engine listings to their mobile device.
What does this mean for most websites in 2019? Get your shit together (just kidding). It means you should reshape your website to look better on mobile devices. Your website was probably designed to be viewed on Desktops, now that people use mobile phones more than often, you should update the website to be mobile friendly.
Some things you can do to improve your websites mobile experience:
- Change image sizes and reposition images to fit mobile viewing.
- Change the size of lettering to make the text more readable.
- Update buttons, link sizes, and overall content structures.
- Update website SEO for Google Voice phrases and words.
- Increase the speed of the website loading time in mobile.
Remember, it’s important to make sure your website loads quickly on mobile. Slow websites are not going to rank as well, and you want to make sure your SEO is working with Google Voice. People are going to use their voices more often to make searches in the future!
