Website Contact Form Not Working

A form may appear to submit while messages fail because of configuration, validation, spam controls, or delivery.

What to check first

  • Send a controlled test with known details
  • Check stored submissions and error logs
  • Review sender addresses, SMTP, and domain authentication

Locate the lost submission

Send a known test and inspect stored entries, form logs, outgoing mail records, and the receiving inbox. The website may save the message while the email notice fails. Record the period affected so missed inquiries can be reviewed.

Repair delivery and feedback

Check recipient addresses, authentication, plugin actions, and hosting mail settings. Make the confirmation clear for visitors. Test on a phone and desktop and verify the notification arrives, not only that the form displays success.

Keep another contact route visible

Offer a phone number or email address while the form is investigated, and repeat a delivery test after future hosting, DNS, or email changes.

Does a fresh form always solve it?

No. Rebuilding the page will not fix a domain mail configuration problem.
